Both the Doryphoros(spear bearer) and Seated boxer
sculptures are typical subjects for Greek artists, and derive from their tradition of the heroic male: A spear bearer and an athlete.
However,because they were completed in two very different eras during the
Greek empire (Early/High Classical period, to the Hellenistic), the results are vastly different.
Each is a sculptural metaphor for the Greek spirit of the age during the Golden
Age & the decline of the empire.”
In three sentences:

2.I claim that in spite of what they have in common, there are important differences due to being made in different eras.
3.Thesis (a statement, claim or question,specifically about the artwork,
that the paper will explore and support with descriptive evidence): I claim that these sculptures are artistic expressions of how the Greek culture views itself in these two very different eras.
In the paper I would then explain and describe how subject(what is depicted), style (the way in which the subject is depicted) and content (the meaning we get from what we see)of each reflect a shift in values, beliefs and cultural circumstances for the ancient Greeks as they go from the Early/High Classical period, to the Hellenistic era.
