This assessment requires you to demonstrate the behaviour we study in our theory and practical
studies to date. It requires extensive preparation, planning and rehearsal over weeks. Allow plenty
of time. Study this brief by week 7 as you will need to understand it before in class work
commences.
The assessment is in two parts A & B:
A. A video recording of a role play of your meeting as an adviser with your client.
B. A plan of your proposed meeting with your client. It needs to contain a short background,
agenda, your approach and tactics, plus desired outcome. The tactics should clearly
identify THREE specific communications tasks (Sharpe, D – reading wk3) to be utilised and
clearly delivered in the role play. The approach should accurately reflect your meeting
sequence (referencing Egan wk 3) and rationale intended in the meeting.
Delivery of Assessment:
Part A to be provided by cloud transfer at the end of week 10.
Part B is to be uploaded to the Moodle at the end of week 10.
Overview of Assessment:
You will be required to work with a selected client (current subject student) and role play a stage of
the client trust and development process demonstrating the working alliance and effective
communication, to maximise engagement in the working alliance. A case study and scenario
